If your teeth and/or molars are crooked, you’ve probably felt that you’d like to do something about it. A brace or aligner is the best solution for this.

How does it work? Crooked teeth and molars don’t align properly, which can cause gaps between your teeth. These areas, which are hard to reach with a toothbrush, can lead to bacterial buildup. The result can be cavities that could have been easily prevented if the teeth were properly aligned and easy to clean.

Getting Braces

Despite the many benefits of braces, not everyone is eager to get them. Metal brackets can take some getting used to visually, so it’s important to weigh the pros and cons and explore your options. If you’d prefer not to have visible brackets, for example, an aligner may also be a great solution.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple process. Whitening products contain one of two active ingredients: hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These agents break stains into smaller particles, making the color less concentrated and your teeth appear brighter.

Whitening doesn’t work on all teeth, which is why we always assess whether it’s a suitable option for your smile. Whitening agents don’t eliminate all types of discoloration. Yellow teeth typically respond well, but brown or gray teeth usually respond less effectively. That’s why it’s important to discuss this with your orthodontic practice.
